IIMI-A place I always wanted to be at

Don’t judge me as a too studious person who had always dreamt for one of the Premier College of India or a person who is gloating about Indore just because she didn’t get into Ahmedabad. By “A place”, I meant a place with lot of natural beauty that gives sense of being in lap of nature.

Before arriving here, I had never imagined that an MBA college could be so beautiful.  Situated at hillock this campus gives a perfect experience of a stay at some hill station. Pardon me but I must say that in monsoon, this place looks more beautiful than other most popular hill stations and honeymoon places of India. When amidst of black clouds, sun gleams- it creates a magical view especially over the white canopy of main MDC building- the first building that you can spot from a distance of 4-5 Km from campus. When remote hillocks greet you with smile, it gives a feel as if whole nature becomes your companion. One or two rainbows in a while make this place even more glorious.
To reach to main academic building from the main gate, you travel through beautiful hilly path of about 2 km. Various plants on partition line and on both sides of road make the journey      even more pleasing. Flowers of diverse colour and variety make you fall in love with the magic of place. The largest portion of campus is kept untouched intentionally to let viewer appreciate the natural beauty in its real form.  As you climb further, the expanded view presents magnificent panorama of hundreds of miles of green area and glimpses of beautiful remote hillocks.

At the junction of roads going to hostel and academic building, there is a lovely sunset point- a peaceful place to enjoy spectacular view of sun set. It offers best place to sit sometime alone; Couples have better options to roam around ;). After all submissions, assignments, quizzes and exams if you get sometime-believe me you’ll rarely get that luxury here , still optimism is the best thing -this place offers you wonderful view . Here you can  enjoy watching running cars on the roads spread across city; the glistening moon above in sky; twinkling stars; soft touch of cool breeze on your face; and a big enigmatic tree at your back.( Yes , it resembles with your favorite scene from some classic Hollywood movie).

Sitting here gives you an opportunity to contemplate over what you actually want from life. There is clear cut-throat competition in inside and outside of corporate world; and prioritization is the skill that every manager needs to learn for living a stress-free successful life. The beauty and serenity of place makes the learning smoother and easier. Every time you feel exhausted, Mother Nature offers you warm hug and you feel rejuvenated.
PS-Don’t underestimate our acads.. I have no intention to convey that our acad system is in any sense inferior to Ahmedabad- when it comes to torturing capabilities: P.

Usko bhi meri Talaash thi

Beautiful Morning

An ordinary morning it was
More splendid than I’ve ever thought
Swiftly from foot of hillock, that rosy speck
risen to adorn Sky’s forehead

All were friends with no enemy
Stars’re withering shiny kingdom
Moon’s taking farewell with low heart
Flowers bowed their head as presenter

Birds chirping to sweet delight
Celebration of new day all around
Seeing this all from my window
And feeling cool breeze on my cheeks

I could not resist but went out in one go
to be part of the grand celebration
The celebration of newly born morning

A new day, A new beginning

"AHSAAS"

Expectations cause frustation

The health of a fruit depends on the nourishment we give to roots. Frustration in a similar manner is the fruit of our thoughts and its roots lies in the expectations we set for ourselves. When all goes fine or even better than we have expected, we feel satiated; but if something goes wrong, it causes irritation and mental blow.

Same event can be pleasing or painful for two people with different level of expectations. Profit of 5 Lacs will be pleasant for one who has been expecting profit of 2 lacs but same will trouble to other person who has been expecting profit of 10 lacs from same event. Figures are same but these two people will look upon it in different way.

We can plan things and accordingly can estimate the outcome but things seldom go in the planned manner. There are always few factors which are beyond control. When one denies accepting the presence of these factors, one invites problems. To avoid losing our own mental peace in such instances, best that we can do is to accept the outcomes of uncontrollable factors and to concentrate on garnering from other factors.

By raising the our efforts and lowering the expectations also one can avoid frustration. In Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, Shri Krishana asks Arjuna to focus on imparting his duty with devotion but to not desire the results. Dale Carnegie, in his famous book “How to stop worrying “, reiterates the same principle.

Expectations from things in which we invest energy, are obvious; but keeping the positive attitude towards life even in worst scenario is the key to happiness.

World Cup a Golden story in records of Victory.

Winning the cup is no less than winning the world. Indians transformed the moonless night into the Diwali night on this victory in the same way, as they did on return of God RAM, the king of Ayodhaya.

Everywhere people were shouting, cheering up, embracing each other and were weeping with excitement, that too in the mid of night. From north to south, east to west whole India was united by thread of love for cricket and excitement of winning.

India won the most coveted tournament in the cricketing world again after 28 years of it's previous victory in 1983. Winning this cup was really important for team India to prove its competence and balanced approach as one of the finest team in the world as well as best Test and One-day team. In this match India played in very mature and calculated manner. This is the main reason behind the fact that, despite of confronting with world's finest teams like Australia & Pakistan in quarter-final and semi-final, India could make it to finals . Rest is the world known story.

The match was full of thrill and excitement. Till last sixer of Dhoni , which brought Victory, every ball was critical. Expressions on faces on viewers were changing . They were fearing, they were cheering, they were praying for the victory. In beginning, Victory seemed farthermost dream- double tossing followed by Shri Lanka's choosing for first batting and early wicket loss by India, made fans disappointed . But as the match proceeded, It brought back the hopes amidst thrilling target of 66 runs in 11 overs against strong fielding team. Shri Lanka was trying hard to widen the gap of cup from India in every possible manner but India testified its enormous patience and strategy skills. And on second ball of last over Dhoni's six brought India much coveted World-cup and much deserved pride.

Nanhi si Vo bachchi

Apni hi dhun me rahti thi
Har pal me chahchahati thi
Khabo ka jahan jo bunti thi
Nanhi si vo pyari bachchi thi

Kabhi gungunana kabhi nachna
Uski purani adat thi
Khidki se jab jhaka karti thi
Puri duniya ko apna jana karti thi
Suraj ko dost vo kahti thi rato ko saheli manti thi

Us ghar me aj bhi vo suraj hai ,
vo chand bhi hai , vo khidki bhi hai
par vo chahchahat chali gayi
vo madhur muskan chali gayi

Kahne ko to ghar aaj bhi hai
Nanhi si vo bachchi chali gayi

One evening in Metro

Delhi’s heartbeat turned metro was arriving at platform, where hundreds of us were already waiting. Everyone was in rush to get into it but when we saw the already overloaded bogies, our faces turned dull in despair. The wonderful metro, we dreamt five years ago, has turned into a routine congested train with lots of delays and apology announcements. Not once could we expect the metro to run at its exact capacity. By the time I got into the metro, I was cursing myself that I had to travel through it. Somehow I got a corner near the front gate to stand.  The air conditioner’s cooling not only comforted my body but also cooled my temper. I started feeling better without the extra load/burden of frustration on my brain.
Over-rush and delays started looking trifle things in front of the comfort I was enjoying. Perhaps our human mind is designed in such a way that everything, however big it may be, when achieved once, loses its value. I was witnessing that aspect of human psychology in my own thoughts. How comfortable life had become after the introduction of metro in Delhi, still now we don’t miss a single chance of blaming it for limitations rather praising once in a while for its revolutionary contribution.
I was lost into my thoughts, when at Rajiv Chowk, two girls entered and stood beside me .They were about 13 years old and most probably were returning after school. Both were absorbed in their talk without giving any heed to people around. The only thing mattered to them by then was their science test. From their conversations, I easily figured out that the test was announced surprisingly and they were nervous about that. Newton and Einstein were the culprits, who by inventing so many theories left a legacy of science as burden on soft shoulders of students. According to them, the world would have been much better without science and tests. I smiled at their thoughts. The stupid girls were not realizing the importance of inventions, without which we couldn’t have electricity, computer and metro.
Oh yes, Metro! We could not have metros. How similar I had been to those girls, I was blaming the metro the same way before few minutes as they were cursing science. We both were complaining without actually realizing the true importance. This realization brought a smile across my lips.
While I was smiling at this thought, an announcement was made that next station would be INA (my Station). Though I boarded the train with anger and frustration, I de-boarded with new realization and optimism. :-)

Bas yahi chahta hu
